Princess Tea Party: Part Two

The tea party also included a very brief play of the story of Cinderella. Estelle was really excited during the show, but I'm not too sure Harriet cared much one way or the other. After we got to go up and meet the Fairy Godmother, Cinderella and Prince Charming.

Estelle loves meeting characters, so she walked right up to the Fairy Godmother. Harriet just happens to be in the foreground on this one.

Then we moved onto Cinderella and her Prince. Harriet was not pleased at all about sitting on Prince Charming's lap while Estelle cried when we were done taking pictures and had to leave.

On the way out, we stopped to play in the sand box.

And here's Estelle refusing to remove her Cinderella apron or her crown.

Princess Tea Party

Cindi asked me if I'd like to take the girls to a Princess Tea Party. I knew that Estelle would love it, but I wasn't too sure about Harriet. In the end I decided it would be fun for the four of us to go. It was a cute little event. The girls got dressed up, made crowns and had tea (apple juice) and snacks.

Museum of Transportation

The girls took a field trip with G&G daycare to the Museum of Transportation. They sent me some wonderful pictures. It looks like they had a blast. These are some lucky girls.

Play-doh tower

Estelle loves to play with play-doh. Here she is showing off some of her fine work.

Outside

The girls really love to be outside. Estelle has become quite proficient at pedaling her tricycle. Harriet is not able to pedal yet, but does a pretty good job of keeping up with her older sister and cousin Andrew.

Crown of Many Colors

We have several headbands with fun decorations on them. One night Estelle decided she wanted to wear all of them. Here's our Christmas, Minnie Mouse, Cat Princess!

Nebulizer

Harriet had a very bad cold that didn't want to seem to go away and ended up in her chest . We gave her nebulizers for a few days and it finally cleared up. Here's our big girl doing her treatment all by herself.

Superheros

I know I have not posted in almost a month, but my previous computer dies and I had to get a new one. I'm still adjusting to the upgrade of Windows 10 and trying to pull my old files to the new computer. I have tons of pictures to share over then next week or so as I get caught up.

The first set is from when we decided to make superhero capes out of dish towels and chip clips. Easy and fun for everyone!

Wagon

We went to a friends house and enjoyed a play date with their daughter, who is 2 months older than Harriet. While we were there I took turns pulling the girls in the wagon. At one point Estelle decided she wanted to pull the two younger girls. She did really well, especially with the turns.

Easter Egg Hunt

We took the girls to their first Easter egg hunt this year. We went with Grandma, Aunt Kelly, Andrew and Ben. It was a nice event and perfect for all the kids. I look forward to making it a tradition. Here are a few of the group gathering eggs.

Estelle put her sunglasses on top of her hoodie and would not let me help fix them. She's becoming a very independent little lady.

Harriet's basket full of eggs

Estelle giving big hugs to the Easter Bunny and Harriet trying to run away.

Here we are attempting to get Harriet's face painted. Originally I was only planning on Estelle, but Harriet walked up to the open chair and climbed up, so we went for it. She got a purple Easter egg.

Braids

I braided Estelle's hair the other night after bath time. She did so well sitting still for me while I finished up the braids. When we took them out the next morning and she had so much volume that she looked like Hermione Granger from Harry Potter. I forgot to get a picture of that, but will next time :)

Furniture Box

I bought a new chair for out bedroom. Of course it was shipped in a very large box. The girls have had so much fun playing in it the last week. Here are some pictures of them enjoying themselves/

Gentiva Brown Bags

The company that I've worked for for 10 years was bought out about a year ago by Kindred and we just recently were renamed. With that transition, our office has to clean out lots of marketing and promotional materials with the old company name and logo. One of the items being tossed was Gentiva brown paper bags that we used every year for our food drive.

The crafter in me (with two very young girls) could not let that precious "material" go to waste. So I brought home 100+ brown paper bags to add to my crafting room. My goal is to use the material in many different ways and post them here and at my office. Here are the girls wearing their bags. For some reason once they were both suited up, they decided to have races around the house. It was great, cheap fun!

Estelle's Big Girl Bed

We finally transitioned Estelle from a crib to a toddler bed. The last time we went out of town and had her sleep in a pack-n-play we realized just how big she gotten. It was time. She did amazing with the transition and has had no trouble adjusting. The best part is that she still stays in bed until we come up and get her. I just wonder how much longer that will last....

Laundry Baskets

I usually do most of my laundry on the weekends. When an empty basket is sitting around, the girls always claim it and use it as a toy. That of course leads to some fighting over who gets to play with the basket. A few weekends ago, I set them both up with their own baskets and added some pillows to make them comfy. They were so excited to sit and watch TV in their laundry baskets.

Walks With Grandma

Cindi and Marty watch the girls at our house on Tuesdays. It's so nice not having to pack them up or pick them up on those days. Now that the weather is nicer, they've started taking walks up and down the street. I love that our new neighborhood has sidewalks and that we live in a relatively flat subdivision, making it easier for the girls to get out and explore.

No Nap....

Estelle has pretty much stopped taking naps at the babysitters. I think that's so odd because she's such a great napper at my house and for G&G. I guess with all the kids and activities at the sitter, she really just does not want to miss out on anything. So she normally falls asleep on the way home. We carry her in and lay her on the couch and she sleeps until we wake her up around 6:00. Luckily for us, she still goes to be around 8:00 and sleeps through the night.

Musical Neighbor

Marty and Cindi watched the girls for us one Saturday afternoon. While playing outside, they met our neighbor's daughter. She plays the saxophone and came over to play it for the girls. She even brought over a recorder for the girls to play with and try out.

SpiderGirl

Keith took the girls over to his friends house for a play date while I was out of town. They have a son about Estelle's age and he shared his dress-up clothes with Estelle. I think she loved it!

Pink Rollers

Some mornings while getting ready for work, I will put in my hot rollers. Estelle has been asking if she too could wear them. I pulled out these pink foam roller and she loves them. Here are the before and after pics.

Shes' even worn the to bed 2-3 times. It's one of the only ways I've  been able to bribe her to let me brush out her hair after bath time.
