Coloring With Harriet

Harriet

 Harriet is getting so big. She's already 15 months old. She's walking, running and talking more. She's definitely got her own personality and she makes up laugh all the time. Here are some updated pics. 

Labor Day Pool Fun

Kelly, Cindi and I took the three cousins to the pool Labor Day weekend. It was my first time taking both girls to the pool. I think they both really enjoyed it. Here's a picture of everyone taking a snack break. 

Now that Keith and I are getting more settled into the new house, we are looking into doing some swim lessons over the fall and winter with the girls. 

Garage

I know the garage is not usually a huge excitement factor when remodeling, but ours got a definite upgrade. We replaced the garage doors (which makes a huge difference) and had to replace one of the garage door openers. Then Keith drywalled the garage, installed some cabinets/workbench for himself, painted the walls painted the walls and the floors. It's so nice to have a clean, open space!

Master Bedroom

No major renovations in this room. Just fresh paint, new blinds and of course our stuff.  Here's the before pictures...

Family Room

This room has definitely had the biggest transformation so far. We started by pulling down the paneling, removing the popcorn ceiling and pulling up the floors and replacing them with hardwood. Here's what we started with when we got the house.

Here are some pictures of the room under construction. We also knocked down half of the wall to open up the Family room to the Dining room, which completely transformed our floor plan.

Once the room started coming together, Keith focused on building a mantel for the fireplace.

And here are some pictures with us all moved in.

We also replaced the sliding glass doors with french doors.

Living Room and Dining Room

Here's what the living room and dining room looked like when we bought the house. We ended up repainting everything, refinishing the hardwood floors and opened up the wall into the family room.

New House

I know I have not posted in over two months, but we have been consumed with the purchase and rehab of a new home. I'll probably spend a few posts sharing picture of what we've done over the past 2+ months. We've definitely been busy.

Here's a picture of the front of the house. It's a 1/1/2 story home with 3 beds and 2 1/2 baths, so much bigger than our previous home. We are so happy to have the extra space (and bedroom)!

Already we have painted the front porch, front door and replaced both garage doors.

And here's a picture of the back of the house when we bought it.

The deck was very unsafe, so we tore it down along with some shrubs and trees and had a new, larger one built in its place.
