Gentiva Brown Bags

The company that I've worked for for 10 years was bought out about a year ago by Kindred and we just recently were renamed. With that transition, our office has to clean out lots of marketing and promotional materials with the old company name and logo. One of the items being tossed was Gentiva brown paper bags that we used every year for our food drive.

The crafter in me (with two very young girls) could not let that precious "material" go to waste. So I brought home 100+ brown paper bags to add to my crafting room. My goal is to use the material in many different ways and post them here and at my office. Here are the girls wearing their bags. For some reason once they were both suited up, they decided to have races around the house. It was great, cheap fun!

Estelle's Big Girl Bed

We finally transitioned Estelle from a crib to a toddler bed. The last time we went out of town and had her sleep in a pack-n-play we realized just how big she gotten. It was time. She did amazing with the transition and has had no trouble adjusting. The best part is that she still stays in bed until we come up and get her. I just wonder how much longer that will last....

Laundry Baskets

I usually do most of my laundry on the weekends. When an empty basket is sitting around, the girls always claim it and use it as a toy. That of course leads to some fighting over who gets to play with the basket. A few weekends ago, I set them both up with their own baskets and added some pillows to make them comfy. They were so excited to sit and watch TV in their laundry baskets.

Walks With Grandma

Cindi and Marty watch the girls at our house on Tuesdays. It's so nice not having to pack them up or pick them up on those days. Now that the weather is nicer, they've started taking walks up and down the street. I love that our new neighborhood has sidewalks and that we live in a relatively flat subdivision, making it easier for the girls to get out and explore.

No Nap....

Estelle has pretty much stopped taking naps at the babysitters. I think that's so odd because she's such a great napper at my house and for G&G. I guess with all the kids and activities at the sitter, she really just does not want to miss out on anything. So she normally falls asleep on the way home. We carry her in and lay her on the couch and she sleeps until we wake her up around 6:00. Luckily for us, she still goes to be around 8:00 and sleeps through the night.

Musical Neighbor

Marty and Cindi watched the girls for us one Saturday afternoon. While playing outside, they met our neighbor's daughter. She plays the saxophone and came over to play it for the girls. She even brought over a recorder for the girls to play with and try out.

SpiderGirl

Keith took the girls over to his friends house for a play date while I was out of town. They have a son about Estelle's age and he shared his dress-up clothes with Estelle. I think she loved it!

Pink Rollers

Some mornings while getting ready for work, I will put in my hot rollers. Estelle has been asking if she too could wear them. I pulled out these pink foam roller and she loves them. Here are the before and after pics.

Shes' even worn the to bed 2-3 times. It's one of the only ways I've  been able to bribe her to let me brush out her hair after bath time.

Super Princess

Estelle is developing a wonderful imagination. On this day, she asked for a cape and then decided she wanted to only be call "Super Princess".
