Lacrosse Game

Estelle and I went to watch Keith coach one of his high school lacrosse games last week because it was supposed to be beautiful outside. As soon as we got there the sun decided to hide behind the clouds and the wind picked  up. Luckily Estelle is pretty good about wearing her hood, so I thought she was probably warm enough. The tricky part was Estelle herself. She was happy to sit in the stroller for about 15 minutes, then wanted to get out and run. There was some good space for us to do that behind the bleachers, but then she kept trying to leave the stadium and run out into the parking lots or run onto the field itself. Needless to say I had one very unhappy child by the time the game was over because I strapped he back into her stroller. Next time I'll take back-up for me.

The boys won in overtime, so it was a good game!

Daddy's Shoes

Recently Estelle has started putting on Keith's shoes and walking around the house. She started doing this all by herself which is the really funny part. Look at her go.

29 Weeks

Went to the doctor today for my 29-week checkup and everything looks great. It's amazing what a difference 10 weeks will make.

15 Month Check-up

We took Estelle in for her 15-month check-up last week. Yes it was a little later that it was supposed to be, but the MD office had to reschedule once and so did we. Estelle is up to 23 lb and 10 oz (71st percentile) and 31 1/2" (62th percentile), which is the first time her weight % is higher that her height % so even though she's become a picky eater, she must be getting enough calories.

The other update from the visit is that Estelle may have allergies vs asthma vs cold. She's had a non-stop runny nose and watery eyes all winter long. Recently she just added a cough to her list of symptoms. We were referred to an allergist for follow-up and further evaluation. Despite all of that she's a happy, playful girl almost all the time. We are enjoying watching her grow and develop her own little personality along the way.

Pillow

Estelle has loved playing with pillows for awhile. It could be taking the couch pillows and throwing them on the ground, or grabbing the pillows from our bed and carrying them around the house. She often lays on them and climbs on them in the living room too.

I got a small pillow while in the hospital after Estelle's birth and recently put it in her crib during nap time to see what she would do with it. For both of her naps that day she threw everything out of her crib except her pillow and baby. She then used the pillow very appropriately during her nap and wouldn't come out of her crib after the nap without it. It continues to be her new favorite bedtime/nap time "toy".

Pockets

Estelle has many outfits with pockets. We will even sometimes put small toys in her pockets while playing, but she's never been that interested in them before. The other day she seemed to find her pocket all on her own while wearing one of her jumpers.

Swiffer

While trying to clean the kitchen floors, Estelle decided to steal the Swiffer from me. She has a toy version of it at G&G Daycare, so she wanted to play with ours. After I shortened it, she played with it and followed me around trying to clean the floors. She's going to be such a big helper when her sister arrives!

Nebulizer

Estelle has had a pretty bad cold over the past week, so we have started giving her a nebulizer treatment to help her breathe better. The other day she decided she didn't need help from mommy and daddy to hold her mask. Here's our big girl giving herself her own treatment.

Baby Stroller

Estelle discovered a fun new toy while we were visiting the Wolgemuths. She fell in love with the baby stroller and loved pushing her baby doll around in it. She also loved being pushed around in the baby doll stroller. Here's Naomi giving her a ride.

Musical Baby

I went to Denver to visit the Wolgemuth's this past weekend with Estelle. It was definitely a challenge to travel by myself with a very mobile and curious 16 month old. She actually did great on the plane rides, but was quite the handful at the airport prior to take-off.

Here she is exploring the piano. Malia tried to put the headphones on her once and then Estelle kept walking back to the piano to put them on herself.

Mimi & Papa

Two weekends ago my parents came in town to visit. Here's a picture of them with Estelle. We had such a wonderful visit even though my mom was slowed down by some serious back pain. Hopefully she will be on the road to recovery soon because I'm going to need her when Estelle's sister arrives!
